The Théophile Roussel Hospital Association for the Development of International Exchange (Law of 1901) 

PROTOCAL FOR TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT INERSHIPS

The Théophile Roussel Hospital is a specialist public sector psychiatric hospital situated in Montesson in the western outskirts of Paris. It caters to the needs of adults, children and adolescents with psychiatric disorders and has become a reference hospital for the whole of the Parisian region because of the nature of it specialist services.
Because of the nature of its structure, it provides a wealth of professional development opportunities for young psychiatrists and other mental health professionals Services are provided by specialist staff who work in both inter-hospital and extra-hospital units.
Aware of the contribution that can be brought from practitioners of different disciplines, the hospital has created an association whose goal is to integrate such practitioners into the hospital environment: L’ADEI (The Théophile Roussel Association for the Development of International Exchanges).

Two types of internships are available:

1) Aried internships:
(Médecins, Psychologues, Infirmiers, Educateurs, rééducateurs, cadres administratifs et techniques, autres…)
Since a work permit is not required for these posts, the period of employment must not exceed three months.

The hospital provides:
- Accommodation in individual rooms with the possibility of a shared kitchen
- Bedding and laundry service (sheets, etc…)
- A daily meal in the staff restaurant
- Public liability insurance

The ADEI provides:
- Food provisions and/or an evening and weekend meal
- A travel card for public transport within the Paris basin
- Inscriptions to particular training courses

2) Salaried employment in exchange for services provided to the hospital (open only to doctors)
Doctors can be recruited for certain internships for a period of six months if certain conditions are met (e.g. inscription for a University degree)

The hospital offers:
- Accommodation similar to the first case but against payment of rent at advantageous rates
- Meals and transport as offered to hospital staff
The Association is responsible for the integration and support of internees, specifically an advance on the first month’s salary in order to cover initial transport and food costs and potentially their inscription to school or university courses).

3) General Conditions

The ADEI will strive to assist and facilitate all necessary actions in respect of communication with governments, embassies and Ministries. Correspondence, transport and telephone costs have been allocated to this effect.
The Théophile Roussel Hospital cannot provide initial job training or conversions.
The Association will provide a certificate at the end of the internship.
ADEI will not cover initial travel costs from the country of origin.
Course content will be determined in consultation with and the agreement of the interns.
